Waste-to-energy has long been technically possible but financially painful: expensive plants, heavy water use, most of the energy thrown away, often needing public subsidy to survive. Hydro-Genyse began from a different premise: capture everything a waste plant produces, heat, water, CO2, sulfur, zinc concentrate, salts, metals and glass and value add on site with the available energy to maximize value and eliminate the waste.
Hydro-Genyse is a licensed developer for IWT. The gasification at the heart of every project uses the IWT/Thermoselect process, which has run commercially since 1992 across nine installations in Japan and Europe.
Hydro-Genyse’s own role is building the integrated facility, and the ecosystem of uses, around that proven reactor. The 2005 Los Angeles County technology assessment placed the process in its highest category, citing many years of commercial municipal-waste experience.
Hydro-Genyse is the parent brand and the entity this website represents. Soualiga HydroGenyse is the Sint Maarten branch, operating as an affiliate on the island projects. Tower Energy International and ACCESS Management and Consultants are also affiliates, working alongside Hydro-Genyse on project delivery.
